Revised Unit Standard Checklist
During 2008 Framework Registration (FR) has been trialling a number of initiatives to improve our quality assurance processes. Documentation related to unit standard applications is an area we identified as requiring improvement.
Some of the same information was required in the application form and on the unit standards evaluation checklist. As part of the quality assurance process, different FR staff checked the same information at different times and recorded their findings in different places.
We have therefore eliminated the unnecessary duplication for applicant SSBs and from our own processes.
As a result we have amended the Checklist for the Evaluation of Unit Standards.
Most of the information provided on the Application for registration of new and reviewed Unit Standards on the National Qualifications Framework has been removed from the checklist, and NZQA codes have been introduced to enable the Administration, Editorial and Evaluation staff all to use the same checklist for their part of the quality assurance process.
Other changes to relate to:
- clarification of requirements
- incorporating some items from our editorial checklist
- adding criteria for the Planned Review Dates, Replacement Information, and the text of Review Reports.
Please note that the requirements themselves have not changed.
