This submission does not meet the requirements of explanatory note 10.
Explanatory note 10:
- In the presentation of design ideas, the student needs to use a selection from the following:
- graphic modes that may include computer applications, other technological applications, mock-ups, models and the range of conventional, non-computer drawing and sketching methods
- graphics media that may include pastels, airbrush, screen printing, colour pencils, collage, felt pens, paint, gouache, card, paper-making
- presentation skills may include precision, accuracy of layout, neatness and tidiness, effectiveness, execution of techniques, composition, use of negative space, typography.
The range of media used throughout the presentation is very narrow.
The level of freehand drawing is at a low level; there is no use of crating, thin/thick line technique, rapid visualisation, or other techniques expected at level 2.
The design process and annotation are at reasonable levels and issues that relate to architecture and links to the designer have been covered.
The drawing and presentation skills keep this to the level of Not Achieved.

The sketching skills evident in these pages are at a basic level.
The media used on this page could have been used more frequently and utilised for final drawings.
The sketching could be strengthened by using techniques such as crating, thin/thick line technique, rapid visualisation etc, expected at level 2.
The design development stage of this submission could be strengthened by investigating in more detail the layout, door and window positions etc of the design.
The final sketch shows better skills using freehand but no formal drawing methods (instrumental drawings) have been used in this submission for final drawings and final illustrations.
The sketching skills in this submission are of a basic nature and keep this submission to the grade area of Achieved. The annotation makes good links to societal factors and there is in-depth analysis. The range of modes and media just meets the criteria for explanatory note 10.

There is evidence of a range of modes and media being used for presentation of ideas. The comments and design notes continue to show good levels of analysis and justification. There is good evidence of "fully justified decisions against the specifications in the brief" in the annotation throughout this submission.
There is a good range of modes and media, although more formal drawings could have been used for final illustrations. The presentation keeps the submission to that of Merit. The sketching skills are good but not "high quality" required for Excellence.
