Framework Learners Approach Half Million

Almost 490 000 New Zealanders are now registered for the National Qualifications Framework. Nearly 35 000 have completed National Certificates or National Diplomas. There are now 670 National Certificates or National Diplomas registered on the Framework. New qualifications registered recently include:
  • National Certificates in Forestry

  • National Certificates in Administration of Revenue Law

  • National Certificate in Materials Management

  • National Certificate in Equine (RDA Coach)

  • National Certificate in Meat Retailing (Management)

  • National Certificate in Maintenance and Diagnostics in Mechanical Engineering

  • National Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

  • National Certificates in Air Traffic Services

  • National Certificates and a National Diploma in Tourism Conventions and Incentives

  • National Certificates in Human Services, and Diversional Therapy

  • National Certificates in Solid Plastering, and Floor and Wall Tiling

  • National Certificates in Concrete, and Joinery

Pacific Studies Unit Standards

Schools and private training establishments are already showing interest in nine important unit standards in Pacific Studies now registered on the Framework.

The standards cover Pacific Change and Development, Pacific Indigenous Knowledge and Pacific Societies. In each of these domains there are standards at levels 1, 2 and 3.

Māori Unit Standards

Unit standards covering traditional Māori knowledge about tikanga and whenua are now on the Framework - see the
story later in this QA News.
