Website users have their say Users of NZQA's website are being invited to take part in a communications survey during February and March. The web survey is the first part of a wider research project being undertaken across several communications mediums used by NZQA which aims to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of NZQA's communications with its audiences. It follows up earlier research carried out in 2004. Users will be presented with a "pop-up" window when they access a selection of screens. This will invite them to provide feedback on their experience of the NZQA website. Users will have the option of completing the survey immediately, completing it later, or declining to participate. Those accepting the invitation will be asked to provide information for demographic analysis, for example by self identifying as students, teachers or Principals. From the survey, researchers will find out how frequently users visit the website and the information they want from it. They will also be asked how easy they think it is to navigate the site and locate the required information. A key part of the research is inviting respondents to suggest improvements to the website. The final results of the survey will be available by the end of April. The wider communications survey is also underway and will take several months to complete. It involves interviews with Principals, Principal’s Nominees, teachers and students, a survey of education sector journalists and interviews with key contacts at Tertiary Education Organisations.
