Workshops to accompany case studies of assessment and moderation |
|
Ten practical case studies demonstrating how assessment and moderation can be undertaken for the National Qualifications Framework have been published on the NZQA website. NZQA Tertiary Education Group Manager, Martin Eadie, says: "the aim of publishing the examples is to contribute to the ongoing debate to raising standards of Framework practice. This will be facilitated by a series of workshops for education providers that will be run early next year." The case studies have been developed from a broad range of industry training organisations and providers, and are each accompanied by support documents such as assessment plans and guides, self review checklists and recognition of current competence procedures. These case studies are intended as examples of assessment and moderation in practice, and are not to be used as definitive guides. Contributors include the ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation, Macquarie Resources, Hairdressing ITO, Academy South, Auckland Hotel and Chefs Training School, Design and Construction Consultants ITO, Primary Industry Polytechnic Industry Association, Joinery ITO and Academy New Zealand. The case studies were developed through a joint New Zealand Qualifications Authority, Skill New Zealand, Industry Training Federation, Association of Polytechnics in New Zealand and New Zealand Association of Private Education Providers project. You can find them here. |
