QA News - October-1999
Quality Assurance onQ The Qualifications Authority is developing a new approach to quality assurance: the 'quality assurance system' - QAS. With the introduction of the QAS, quality audit will become central, replacing and integrating many of the Authority's current quality assurance activities, such as review of registration, accreditation and course approval. Risk indicators are being developed to assist case managers to determine when further investigation, such as quality audit, may be needed. The QAS will provide new opportunities for organisations that are capable of effectively managing their own quality assurance activities. Many will be able to take on greater responsibility and autonomy in their quality activities. The QAS will be phased in during 2000. Existing accreditations and approvals will remain in place through the transition process and will be subject to quality audit at the time they would ordinarily have been subject to review.
The new publication that will keep clients up to date with the changes is called onQ. The first issue was distributed in September. Further information will be out later this year. |
